Fire Suppression Unit
The ATOMIZED FIRE SUPPRESSION UNIT
Environmental & Fire Technologies and Air Commander Hovercraft has combined two
technologies to produce a new breed of fire fighting apparatus.
FS-140 is a hydrating polymer gel used by the US Navy over the last 20 years for fighting
on-board ship fires. The gel creates a thermal barrier that attaches itself to vertical
surfaces making it ideally suited for exposure protection. FS-140 encapsulating the water
into a gel product evaporation is reduced significantly.
When atomized water and FS-140 are introduced into a flaming building by door or
window forced in by 104 MPH winds it enters and swirls through halls, up stairs in and
around rooms coating everything in a thermal barrier. Flames are reduced and smoke is
exited the building at the other end by positive pressure venting.
Forest fires can be fought from rivers and streams using the Air Commander Hovercraft
with the on-board AFSU or a trailer pulled along by a water tank supply truck. The trailer
has the ability to mix the FS-140 with water and disperses in atomized patterns from the
rear wind blades and can be directed left or right of the trailer. The pattern will create a fire
break where needed or extinguish flames.
POSITIVE PRESSURE VENTING AND THE INTRODUCTION OF MOISTURE WITH
hydrating polymer gel can make the most effective fire fighting tool in your may ever have.
